The Municipal Youth Education Center (KJBW) is an institution of the youth welfare office of the city of Kassel.

The Youth education center offers extracurricular educational opportunities for young people and young adults between 13 and 27 years old.

 

Haus der Jugend – Center for non-formal education and youth groups

 

In the Youth center, youth groups can book rooms for their activities, e.g. for dance groups, theater groups, meetings of the City student council, homework help, discussion groups, etc.

 

Extra-curricular education offers

Non-violent life‘  experiencing tour

 

In 5 stations ideas are developed on how young people can react in difficult situations. The topics are domestic violence, violence in public spaces, sexual violence, alcohol and bullying. The “Non-violent life” adventure course can only be booked by groups. One run takes about 2 hours.

 

Seminars for youth groups and school classes

The Municipal Youth Education Center (KJBW) offers to school classes and youth groups the opportunity for seminars in the fields of medias, team building, class climate, conflict management, global relationships and intercultural learning.

 

Media work

The Municipal Youth Education Center (KJBW) produces radio programs with young people on self-chosen topics at the Freien Radio Kassel.

 

International youth projects

The Municipal Youth Education Center (KJBW) annually organizes several international youth projects in Northern Hesse and in other European countries.

 

Eurodesk – Information about stays abroad

The Municipal Youth Education Center (KJBW) is part of the Eurodesk network. Young people, young adults, parents, teachers and specialists in youth work can receive information about stays abroad (youth exchanges, volunteer services, work camps, school year abroad, etc.).
